Instructions and Helpful Hints

Thank you for agreeing to provide an event to Spiritual Singles. In order to help us produce the Calendar of Events and advertise your program, we ask that you provide us with a description of your event using the format described below.

If you have never led a Spiritual Singles event before, click on our FAQ page to get more information.

(Note: There are separate pages for submitting an Event of Other Organization or a Classified Ad)

Where? Before you can set a date for an event, you need a location. If you do not have a suitable location for your event, click on Finding Location.

Reserve a Date! If you do not have a full description for your event yet, but have a location, date and title, fill out the starred entries to get your date reserved. You will need to fill out the entire form again later before the Calendar Deadline to get your description into the Calendar of Events.

Note on reserving a date on our calendar: We prefer to not have more than one or two events at one time, and no events can be scheduled during a major event like a dance, party, community potluck, or retreat. Directions Options

In setting up directions to the event, you have several options:

1. If the location is a private home and you want control over how many people attend, type "Call xxx-xxx-xxxx (phone number) [you may also include an e-mail address, but at least phone number]. Space limited."
2. If your location is a public place such as a restaurant or office, include the address, brief directions, and the location's phone number. If you have an internet site with directions, provide that.
3. For parties and larger events that can accommodate over 15 people and do not require an RSVP, please include directions in the description. (Note that it's harder to limit the number of people coming to the event, but few people will call asking for directions.) For help in writing directions, consult a mapping site such as Mapquest.

Description Examples

A mini workshop by Patricia Remele based on her book, Money Freedom: Finding Your Inner Source of Wealth. This interactive workshop is designed to release the blocks to experiencing the abundance that we already are. We will learn techniques to switch our focus from scarcity and fear to abundance and love. We will practice feeling abundant, which, of course, can be applied to any aspect of our life. Patricia shares how she changed her mind and changed her life from a $20,000 negative cash flow to making over half a million dollars in a year.
Use your imagination, memory and dreams to find your soul/core, heart and need to play. The workshop consists of a series of timed writing exercises, with optional sharing.

Bio Examples

Virginia Prichard Chappel brings fifteen years' experience in journalism, performance art writing and facilitating to her workshops, working through organizations like the Kennedy Center and the Very Special Arts Program of Washington. Pathways Magazine is publishing her first book - Out of the Blue Light.

Finding a Location for a Spiritual Singles Event

Spiritual Singles has a number of volunteers who are willing to open their homes for events. If you are in need of a location, check the list and contact our hosts via e-mail or phone. It would be most helpful if you provide descriptions of your event and yourself, as well as a number of potential dates.

You may wish to contact several potential hosts at the same time. However, once you have set up with a host, we ask that you not switch hosts unless absolutely necessary.
